August 18th 2010 Meeting Minutes

CMA Booster Club Kick Off Meeting - August 18, 2010

Called to Order at 8:10PM - 25 Booster Club Members in Attendance • Becky Goodman made a motion to approve the minutes from the June Meeting.

Gay Burns seconded. The vote passed unanimously.

Treasurerʼs Report - Gay Burns: • Balance (as of 8.18.10) - $9,510.78 (includes 1 outstanding check that was

subtracted from the total) • Rough Balance with donations/sales from tonightʼs meeting - $10,170.70

Fundraising Report - Natalie Genco: • T-shirts can be ordered in any size (Junior & Adult) for the entire family. The

samples will be with Mrs. Martin at school for upper class students to order. • Cowbells - We want to vote into the budget an initial order of cowbells to sell at

football games. Currently we are not happy with the samples we have. We may end up purchasing something different. We want to purchase 150 of them (a minimum order) for $337.50.

• Dragon Toy - Cost is $2 each and we want to sell them for $5. We want to purchase a minimum order of 13 lots for $312.

• Cookbook - Marina Sloane (Freshman Parent) will be in charge of gathering the recipes. The recipes collected will be published with the personʼs name submitting. It takes 60 days from the time they are ordered to get them. We plan to have them in November so they can be sold as Christmas presents. We will pre-order and order $300 worth of extra books to sell.

• We are gathering contact information online - Becky Goodman and Tracey Shuck have been working on this. • Ann Dachnewsky made a motion to approve the Bylaw Clean-Up and Revisions. Melissa Ripley seconded. The vote passed unanimously.

• Gay Burns made a motion to approve the fall semester budget (See attached) Nancy Lesky seconded the motion to approve the budget. The vote passed

unanimously.

" -Nancy Lesky, Vice President, Parent Class Rep Events and Patty Willis, Parent Class Rep: The Sophomores had a great summer party at Nancyʼs home. They are looking forward to having more socials for the Sophomores. " - Cheryl Salanty - working on dates for the Awards Banquet. Please contact her " by email or phone if you are interested in serving on the committee.

" - Melissa Ripley - Looks like the Physicianʼs Breakfast will be held the 2nd/3rd " week in February. CMA is in need of a new place to hold the Physicianʼs " Breakfast as we have outgrown the previous space. We need somewhere close " to the school that can hold 250+ people. We have had generous offers for " location that we are concerned will be too far away to get the kids there that early " in the AM.

- Melissa Ripley- CMA will have parent socials as well. We will meet once a month for lunch or dinner. The schedule for this will come out soon.

- Yash Sidhu and Pari Sidhu had an event for the Junior Class. They went to Main Event for $10 night.

- Freshman Parent Class Reps Salima Madhani and Mona Pate are planning a Pot Luck Picnic.

- Anyone willing to have the kids at your home for socials, please let the Parent Class Repʼs know. They can help you plan and they have a budget to possibly help pay for snacks.

- Ann Dachniwsky and Grace Dotson-Senior Parent Class Reps do not currently have a date but are planning a pool party.

CMA Booster Club Meeting Agenda - 08/18/10

We will have our August CMA Board Meeting following the kickoff on Wednesday August 18th from 7:45-8:15. The kickoff starts at 6:30 and will be held in the cafeteria at Carroll Senior High.

Agenda items are as follows:

*Approval of June minutes

*Treasure's report- Gay Burns

*Fundraising:

-T shirts- Natalie Genco- $24 black and green rhinestone Ts, $13 black and green Ts with white lettering. Total order= $187 for samples of these.

-Cow bells -Sherry Cutler -(white with imprint $2.25 if we buy 150 of them=$337.50)

-Dragon pinchers -Gay Burns- ($2 each To get free shipping, we would have to order a minimum of 13 lots, only sold in 12 packs, which would cost approx. $312)

-Cookbook-Natalie Genco
Marina Sloane will be in charge of gathering recipes
We have approval from the school for this fundraiser.
