Call to Order - 7:09pm - 11 Members in Attendance (including Mrs. Martin)
1. Approval of minutes from last meeting September 2010. Becky Goodman made a motion to approve the Minutes from the September 2010 Meeting. Nancy Lesky seconded. The approval of the minutes was passed by a unanimous vote. The motion carried.
2. Treasurer's report-Gay Burns - see Report Attached
3. Fundraising
-T Shirts- waiting on more orders to send in new T-Shirt orders.
Refunding old t-shirt orders that weren’t filled.
Football trinket sales - Gay Burns sold alone and was able to sell $132 pre-game
-Cookbook update. We are placing an initial order of 500. We have a lot of recipes that are amazing.
The art teachers from CHS are excited about the art being displayed in the cookbook. They have not pre-ordered so they would like for us to have a lot of extras for this purpose.
The winning artwork for each cookbook section was displayed at the booster meeting. We intend to put the “honorable mentions” on the website to show recognition of submissions.
We want to give recognition in the cookbook to the Art Teachers (Monica LaPier and Arlene Valdez) who assigned the art project to their students. We are considering making a certificate of recognition for all students who submitted artwork.
Nancy Lesky volunteered to notify those offering internship opportunities to our students about the advertising opportunity in the cookbook.
- Awards for CMA students and boosters: We want recognize CMA students so that they can use those awards for their College Applications - we need to figure out how to qualify different awards.
- Directory Update - Directory will be completed by Tracey Shuck when she finishes the cookbook.
6. Nametags - we would like to purchase nametags for the board members for identification at events. The plastic sleeve type of nametag seemed to be the most popular option.
7. Executive Board Members:
- Nancy Lesky - Volunteers - 13 parents are volunteering through January to help out at the school.
- Third Vice President - Dawn Schindler: Mrs. Martin and Dawn are meeting this week regarding Internships and Summer Volunteers
- Fifth Vice President - Melissa Ripley: Central Market Parent Activities - send out reminders a week before and the day before. “Career Day” or “Physician’s Breakfast” will be scheduled for Feburary 17th, 2011 at St. John’s Church on Kimball Avenue.
- Sixth Vice President - Cathy Hendrickson: Mentor/Mentee Meeting October 27th at Carroll High school from 3:30-4:30pm. We will provide name tags for all future meetings.
- Seventh Vice President (Liaison to Student Board) - Maria Quinn: The student board will meet once a month the Wednesday before the Booster Meetings.
- Freshman Parent Representative - Salima Madhani and Mona Pate: hosted a party at Skatetown . 19 kids were in attendance.
- Sophomore Parent Representatives- Nancy Lesky & Patty Willis: planning a get together the first week of November - picnic in the park
- Senior Parent Representative - Ann Dachniwsky & Grace Dotson: planning a Halloween party Sun afternoon or evening on Halloween from 5-8. Charging money for pizza and having costume contest.
- Senior Class Representative - Reed Ripley and Katie Dachniwsky - Full Class Picnic close to Thanksgiving Break is being considered as well as Pump it Up or Laser Quest.
